Growing Information
Our Hot Pepper Fish thrives in both containers and garden beds, making it a versatile addition to your garden. It loves soaking up the full sun and growing in well-draining, slightly acidic soil. Once the danger of frost has passed and temperatures remain above 65 F, it's time to transplant your seedlings outdoors. Remember, these peppers need to be planted 14-18 inches apart to flourish. Keep the soil evenly moist, but be careful not to overwater. A little mulch around the plants will help retain moisture and suppress weeds. Soon, you'll see them bloom under the sun!
'Nir’s Take'
“I’m absolutely enamored with the colors of these peppers. They start off white with stripes, almost like a fish, and then transition towards red. The rich history behind these peppers makes growing them even more meaningful. As an heirloom of African-American heritage, it’s a wonderful reminder of the diverse cultures that contribute to our food. Plus, they taste fantastic! They deliver jalapeño-like heat that’s perfect for both mild and spicy dishes. I highly recommend having at least one or two in the garden this year.”
