Our Hot Pepper Chocolate Trinidad Scorpion loves a warm, sunny environment with rich, well-draining soil. These peppers prefer full sun, but don't forget a little afternoon shade on those hot summer days! You can transplant these seedlings outdoors when nighttime temperatures are consistently above 65 F. Space them 14-18 inches apart for excellent airflow and let them reach a height of 2-3 feet. Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging. You can increase the peppers' heat by providing full sun and keeping the soil consistently warm. Remember, mild water stress can enhance capsaicin production, which increases the heat level!

When it comes to handling these bad boys, I don’t usually wear gloves for picking. But trust me, you’ll want gloves if you’re making hot sauce, or you’re in for a fiery surprise! If you’re not going for crazy spiciness, one plant works well for hot sauce. But if you’re like me and want that extra kick, I’d recommend having 6 to 8 of these plants in your garden.”
