Growing Information
The Rain Forest Chili is a sun-loving plant that needs 8-12 hours of full sun daily. Start your seedlings indoors and transplant them outdoors when the threat of frost has passed and temperatures are consistently above 65 F. They thrive in the heat and will reward you with an abundance of 1 ½ inch, cherry-red fruit, perfect for snacking, pickling, cooking, stuffing, and more. Be sure to provide consistent warmth and moisture throughout the growing season for optimal growth. Despite their height, these compact plants adapt well to container growth and can even be grown indoors under grow lights.
'Nir’s Take'
“I’ve grown this one off and on over the past few years, and it’s a really cool pepper. These are like small chilies that grow on really tall plants. The plants get pretty tall, so I like to add these into the garden where you’re constantly growing fruit. By the end of the year, you have this massive, almost tree-like thing. It’s quite a sight!”
Cooking & Eating Ideas
These peppers are the perfect addition to a variety of dishes, from homemade salsas to tropical stir-fries. Their sweet flesh and medium heat make them excellent for snacking or pickling. Plus, they're great for stuffing and cooking. Experiment and discover your favorite way to enjoy the Rain Forest Chili!
