Growing Information

Sweet Bonnet peppers are real sun-lovers and thrive in warm, sunny conditions. Ensure they receive full sun and plant them in well-draining soil for optimal growth. Start your seedlings indoors in a bright light before the last frost date in your area. Once all danger of frost has passed and temperatures remain above 65 F, it's time to transplant your peppers outdoors. Leave a space of around 14-18 inches between each plant to allow them to flourish.

'Nir’s Take'

The Sweet Bonnet pepper brings back fond memories of my travels in the Caribbean. It’s much milder than a jalapeño, and adds a beautiful fruity sweetness to any dish. It’s like a Scotch Bonnet, but without the intense heat, making it perfect for those who want a bit of Caribbean flavor without the burn.

Cooking & Eating Ideas

Sweet Bonnet peppers are incredibly versatile and add a unique twist to your cooking. Use them raw in salads for a fresh, sweet crunch, or chop them up into a salsa for a fruity kick. Try them in stir-fries or Caribbean-inspired dishes for a touch of tropical flavor, or make a mild, sweet pepper relish or jam to serve alongside cheese and crackers.
